Sammy Hagar
This is the sort of Brand X rock that is a staple on AM radio: short on creativity, long on macho preening and low on IQ. Sample line: "Now you ask me where we go from here/ I don't know, it's not quite clear." Hard rocker Hagar, 35, has at least availed himself of the studio talents of Pat Benatar producer Keith Olsen, who has given this collection a crisp, full-throttle sound. But even snap, crackle and pop gets a little soggy eventually. In this case it's sooner rather than later.
