Picks and Pans Review: National Geographic Special: Save the Panda

This documentary, filmed mostly in the Chinese hinterlands, focuses on a joint project between the World Wild Life Fund and Chinese scientists to study and breed the giant panda, an endangered species whose females can become pregnant only three days a year. But the special, marred by tedious narration and a jumbled story line, doesn't bear up to expectations.
