CBS (10-11 p.m. ET)

Ralph Waite, who seems permanently typecast as a sage in overalls, goes with the flow as a criminal lawyer who gives up city life to drift down Ol' Man River in a towboat, aiding the yokels. The series is a sometimes suspenseful cross between Huckleberry Finn and Deliverance. (Premiere)
