Picks and Pans Review: Cheech & Chong's Still Smokin'

UPDATED 05/23/1983 at 01:00 AM EDT Originally published 05/23/1983 at 01:00 AM EDT

The Ferrante & Teicher of hip West Coast stoned-age humor go to Amsterdam. So much for the story line. Dialogue? Throw a "man" at the beginning and end of every speech, like "In the middle, man" and "You got it, man." Dope jokes? Read a menu offering "California salad"—marijuana leaves. Cracking up yet? Maybe grossness is where you're at. While a blonde is taking on both Cheech and Chong, there are intercuts of animal fornication (tortoises, deer and rhinos). Any successful gags are lost in the dumbness of it all. Artistically, if not chemically, Cheech and Chong are the most wasted talents in Hollywood. (R)
