In this 1982 bust of a musical based on the Broadway hit, Dolly Parton is a Texas madam and Burt Reynolds is the sympathetic sheriff who must close down Dolly's business after TV evangelist Dom DeLuise makes an issue of it. The movie was hooted by most critics, but Charles Durning won a deserved Academy Award nomination for his role as a side-stepping governor. (Check local listings for subsequent dates.)
