Picks and Pans Review: Just a Little More Love

NBC (7-8 p.m. ET)

Good intentions abound in this uneven dramatization about the problems families experience in adopting children. Michael (Hill Street Blues) Warren gives a strong performance as a social worker who is both forceful and loving. But the intertwined plots—focusing on middle-class white and black families—are shortchanged in a one-hour presentation. The pat message is that just a little more love will make everything fine. Important issues are thoughtfully raised, however, and the acting is first-rate.
