This is a cut-and-paste paperback with still photographs from the President's old movies and quotes from those who knew him when. The subtitle is "Friends and Enemies Discuss Our President, the Actor." Screenwriter Howard (Casablanca) Koch recalls, "I knew Ronald Reagan slightly, just enough to distrust him." Bob Hope says, "Ronnie's hero is Calvin Coolidge and Nancy's is Calvin Klein." Other judgments vary from Ginger Rogers' claim that "he is to this age what Lincoln was to his age" to Bette Davis' cryptic "I didn't vote for him." (Faber and Faber, $11.95)
