Meco

Anyone who doubts the persistent cultural decline of Western civilization need note that it has been only seven years since Meco Monardo droned onto the pop music scene with his No. 1 single, a hyperproduced disco version of the Star Wars theme. Meco's latest synthesized monstrosity includes 19 minutes of Return of the Jedi-Star Wars material, more than enough to make any sensible person wish Darth Vader had wiped the rebels out a long time ago. There are also thumpy, dull versions of music from Flashdance (yes, folks, even Maniac can be made to sound dull), WarGames, Twilight Zone—the Movie and Superman III.
