Guy Clark

A south Texas TV station art director who just sort of moseyed into country music, Clark has written such tunes as Desperadoes and is one of the best story-telling singer-composers. What better way to illustrate that than by citing lyrics from one of the songs on this delightful album: "Plant 'em in the spring, eat 'em in the summer/ All winter without 'em's a culinary bummer" (from Homegrown Tomatoes).
