Picks and Pans Review: You Bought It—You Name It

Joe Walsh

Ex-Eagle Joe is undeniably facile with a six-stringer and reasonably smooth with a lyric line. But his smarmy voice sounds like a frat brother who's had too many beers and believes he can sing. In spite of that, Joe and his familiar gang of studio cronies have put together a fairly entertaining rock 'n' roll record with such sonic send-ups as "Space Age Whiz Kids", "Told You So and Shadows". He probably won't win any sensitivity points for "I.L.B.T.s", which stands for "I love big tits." But he does get a few good behavior points for a dreamy instrumental called "Theme From Island Weirdos" that, mercifully, ends this collection.
