Billy's Uptown Girl
They may look photosensitive, but Christie Brinkley and beau Billy Joel were really just joshing London paparazzi during the European promo blitz for Joel's hit An Innocent Man album. Commercially, the couple has been even less camera shy: The video for Joel's latest single, Uptown Girl, stars a suspiciously familiar blonde.
Lionel trains Cooney
In this corner (right), we have Gerry Cooney, heavyweight pugilist. In this corner (left), we have Lionel Richie, emerging heavyweight singer. Their polite sparring, at a party following one of Richie's sold-out Manhattan performances, faded after a couple of jabs—perhaps because Richie was tired from singing All Night Long, as well as a bundle of his other hits.
