This documentary, based on a study by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, examines the day-to-day problems of both urban and suburban secondary education. The inherent difficulties of the system are presented—at length—in a forthright and intelligent manner. The program was filmed in several states (including New Jersey and Maryland). The solutions: a tighter curriculum and better teacher pay.
