Photo exhibits brought out the luminaries on both sides of the Atlantic. Actor Robert Redford showed up two weeks ago with his daughter, Shauna, 22, at Manhattan's International Center of Photography to view a stunning collection of mountain shots called High Light. Redford was honorary co-chairman of the gala benefit opening. Many of the pictures were from the camera of Galen Rowell, a photographer who climbed to 18,000 feet with the adventurous Redford on a mountain in the Himalayas earlier this year.
Less of an artistic coup, but one with a royal touch, was an exhibition of amateur snapshots at Hamiltons Art Gallery in the Mayfair section of London. Koo Stark (surrounded by visiting schoolchildren) and Prince Andrew contributed 22 photos to the display. Their snaps weren't bad, but the real photogenesis Andy and Koo should stick to the other side of the lens.
