Richard Chamberlain and Rod Steiger star as explorers Frederick A. Cook and Robert E. Peary in this disappointing TV movie about the exploration of the North Pole. Peary has been credited with reaching the North Pole in 1909. But, according to this story, it was Cook who got there first. The movie is as cold as the Greenland ice floes on which it was filmed. Chamberlain as the romantic Cook and Steiger as the opportunistic Peary are effective but hampered by a script that lacks a sense of adventure and passion.
