This uplifting TV movie from writer Earl (The Waltons) Hamner is sweet without being saccharine. The plot is similar to Frank Capra's classic It's a Wonderful Life. Lee Remick effectively underplays her role as a depressed woman who recovers her will to live by recollecting the love that surrounded her childhood. As Remick's feisty mother, Angela Lansbury is a pleasure to watch.
