Charles Kuralt's early-morning program has built a loyal audience for its special brand of lyrical nature pieces and interesting profiles. This fifth-anniversary installment (which, typically, will have little fanfare) is a good time to sample the low-key Kuralt. The lineup includes features on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt and a short film on whooping cranes which has been shown on every anniversary program.
