Picks and Pans Review: Scandals

Cinemax (Thursday, March 15, 12 a.m. ET)

Cable goes kinky. Very kinky. Harry Anderson, the funny flim-flam man (star of Night Court and guest on Saturday Night Live and Cheers), acts as the emcee of a glitzy but low-life cabaret. Harry does magic tricks. Grace Jones sings. Then it turns into a flesh-for-all: Topless dancers bounce to the music. A woman from the audience takes off her dress and gets cheers (whether for her moxie or her measurements, it's not clear). Bare-topped cheerleaders and bare-bottomed linebackers frolic in a coed locker room, the stuff of which adolescent damp dreams are made. It adds a new dimension to TV jiggle and a new definition to "boob tube." It's tawdry and tacky and not worth watching.
