PBS (Sundays, 9 p.m. ET)

Yet another British drama of refinement, manners and mumbling, this one is about Nancy Astor (Lisa Harrow), a Virginia belle who dropped out of finishing school before the job was done, married a Yankee philanderer, Pierce (Remington Steele) Brosnan, then froze him out on their wedding night. Once divorced, she moved on to become an English Lady and the first woman in Parliament. She defines rich bitch. Though Astor's life is intriguing at times, hers is a tale that deserves little sympathy. The first show of eight is choppy and poorly edited, though the later ones do at least get juicier.
