Picks and Pans Review: The Tedium Is the Message

UPDATED 05/14/1984 at 01:00 AM EDT Originally published 05/14/1984 at 01:00 AM EDT

There's a breather from miniseries mania this week, a sandwich between the three last week and two more next week. Instead, the bill of fare features made-for-TV movies. The three reviewed below all try to be so Serious, so Special, so Important. No spaceships, no flesh, no sleaze. No fun. These three shows try to have messages instead—and they try a little too hard. Odd how a two-hour movie can seem a lot longer than a six-hour mini.
