California really should form its own anti-defamation league to fight the proliferation of coastal clichés. Take this made-for-TV movie set in Northern California's Silicon Valley, where a country club is a cult, where new cars and new homes and muscles are all that count. Robert (Vega$) Urich plays a computer genius who moves his wife, Joanna (Buffalo Bill) Cassidy, and his kids west, where they're pressured to join the country club run by soap queen Susan Lucci of All My Children (really the devil in red lipstick). It turns into a cross between The Exorcist and Stepford Wives that's TV-trashy but kinda fun. Perfect for a night when you want to let the brain rest.
