What the plot of this commercial has to do with computers is anybody's guess. In it, legions of drones, all gray, listen to an Orwellian sermon on giant-screen TV. Then a jogger breaks the tube, saving the day. The moral, it seems, is that good guys wear running shoes. Whatever it means, it is a fascinating and riveting bit of video. Too bad that the ad—which introduced Apple's Macintosh in January—was on the air for only a week. It won two Clios for direction and best theater commercial.
