When Siskel and Ebert deserted public TV for profitable TV, they were replaced by Jeffrey Lyons of WPIX-TV in New York and Neal Gabler of Detroit magazine. It didn't work as well. Because Lyons and Gabler do not know each other, because they were just thrown together and because they sound more scripted, they lack the Ebert-Siskel chemistry. If reviews are all you want, Sneak Previews is okay (or you can just turn the page). If chemistry and controversy are what you want, watch Ebert and Siskel's At the Movies.
