For sheer vitriol, it would be hard to beat this broadside. Bonner and Nelson, the first a Texan and the second a former Texas newspaper writer, light into Cowboy coach Tom Landry, Roger Staubach and even the Dallas cheerleaders. It's sporadically funny—Soviet hockey coach Viktor Tikhonov, after watching the cheerleaders' semi-burlesque performance, asked, "Tell me, these women: are they wayward?" Most often, though, the book is just full of unnecessary roughness. (Collier Books, $4.95)
