Rock on
Rock Hudson, 59, leaving an L.A. fete honoring his pal actor Robert Preston, looked a bit on the thin side—the result, says his publicist, of shooting a film in Israel, where the food just didn't agree with him. Hudson will appear—much healthier—in Dynasty episodes that begin next month. It's rumored that he'll stir Linda Evans' romantic interest.

Illustrated men
No, they're not reshooting the album cover for Tattoo You. From left to right that's ex-Allman Brother Dickey Betts, Stray Cat Brian Setzer and R&B perennial Johnny Winter, who got together in New York to tape a "Guitar Greats" show for MTV. Between numbers the threesome answered a photographer's call to arms.

For whom the bells toll
Fresh from filming The Mean Season with Kurt Russell, Mariel Hemingway, 22, has begun full-time work on a new project: her Dec. 9 wedding to Steve Crisman, 34, manager of Manhattan's Hard Rock Cafe. "Weddings are the most time-consuming things ever," Mariel concludes. "That's my vocation at the moment."
