'TIS THE SEASON TO BE ON TV

You get three this week alone: Kenny & Dolly, A Christmas Carol and A Matter of Principle...It's also the beginning of TV's so-called second season, when failing shows fade away and new ones are born. NBC is delivering two new Saturday sitcoms: Spencer, at 9:30 p.m., stars Chad (Silence of the Heart) Lowe as a high schooler with "an impish streak." Double Trouble, at 8:30, has been remade, moving its darling twin stars, Liz and Jean Sagal, to New York. And ABC is trying out two new sitcoms against Dallas, both reviewed below.
