Three singles in an apartment house. From the sound of it, they might as well have called it Three's Got It Made. Judge (Gremlins) Reinhold is the handsome stud: "I've never said no to a woman." Allen (Nashville) Garfield is the divorcing older wimp. Jamie (Flight #90) Rose is the lovely lawyer. She at least manages to break one sexcom cliché: She's beautiful and smart. So instead of showing off her breasts, she talks about them. In this pilot Reinhold is dating a woman who fills the show's cleavage quota. He toasts her: "To your happiness, to the beauty that runs the entire length of your body." Cue laugh track. Just then, Rose barges in. She's broken up with her boyfriend and she wants comfort from friend Reinhold. Rose asks him to hold her and he does. "Thanks for being so sweet," she says. But then her eyes turn angry and she adds, "Why is your hand on my breast?" They fight. Rose asks another woman friend of Rein-hold's, "Did he ever grab your boob?" She and Reinhold fight some more. They make up. Cue credits. Rose and Reinhold are plenty charming enough to carry a show, but this one is weighted down with old ideas you've seen before. Watch Never Again now and judge for yourself—you may not get to see it ever again.
