by Daniel S. Sorine
A paean to today's balletic big guns, this strictly-pictures book concentrates on studied and flattering studio poses. Some are intriguing. There's an abstract, sculptural shot of Mel Tomlinson, for instance, and a series reflecting the quicksilver moods of Gelsey Kirkland. Most of the pictures don't tell you anything, though. They're merely pretty. (Dover, $6.95)
