PEOPLE'S current advertising slogan, "We're booming," has a special meaning for our baby-boom-generation edit staff. In the past two years, they have become the parents of 15 children—eight girls and seven boys (four more children are on the way). On Jan. 21, the coldest day of winter to date in New York City, 13 of these boomers showed up in a well-heated Manhattan studio for a group photo. Once assembled, the hardy tots proved a real challenge to photographer Mimi Cotter. Despite her best barking noises, she needed all the help she could get from assembled parents to keep her subjects from wandering right out of camera range. Clearly they didn't think it was as great an idea as we did.
