A complicated true story: Mary Stuart (Heaven Help Us) Masterson plays a rebellious teen who takes drugs until her parents, Sam (The Killing Fields) Waterston and Christine (Swing Shift) Lahti, force her to get cleaned up. Then the girl finds out she has cancer and bravely undergoes radiation and chemotherapy. She falls in love and, believing that her treatments have made her sterile, makes love. Wrong. She becomes pregnant. Her cancer therapy could kill the baby. So then comes the tough question: Does she have an abortion to save her life? You guess how it ends. This grim movie is earnest as can be but just as manipulative.
