Picks and Pans Review: Me and Mom

UPDATED 04/08/1985 at 01:00 AM EST Originally published 04/08/1985 at 01:00 AM EST

ABC (Friday, April 5, 10 p.m. ET)

Just what TV needs: another detective show. And this one's missing the one great thing Moonlighting had: personality. Lisa (The Winds of War) Eilbacher, a private eye, partners with her mom, Holland (Bosom Buddies) Taylor, and James Earl Jones. She solves murders, but only after Jones gives her ponderous lectures that have all the entertainment value of a guidance counselor going over SAT scores. The characters have nothing that ties them together; they seem to bore each other and they'll do the same for you.
