Berry Gordy has lost none of his flair for promotion. Not only is the Motown honcho's newest movie modestly entitled Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon, the Los Angeles party for the film's world premiere also offered a reunion between Gordy and his former flame, Diana Ross. "They're fantastic dancers," said one partygoer. Perhaps they've practiced.

Wham, smack
Give me a little kitsch, will ya, huh? Spotting Wham! lead singer and songwriter George Michael at Langan's Brasserie restaurant in London, comedian and extrovert Mel Brooks tried to plant one on the singer's newly bewhiskered cheek. Michael demurred, but no doubt assured Brooks that he still liked and respected him as a friend.

Come closer, dahling
Of course most stars want exposure when they've got a film coming out. And that's what Lauren Hutton, who plays a vampire countess in the Samuel Goldwyn Co.'s upcoming comedy Once Bitten, got as she emerged from Tower Video on Sunset Boulevard last week. Hutton had just finished filming a scene nearby and was semi-dressed in appropriate costume.
