A Raucous Rocker He May Be, but Rolling Stone Keith Richards Can Play the Doting Dad as Well
With his unruly mane and unshaven mug, Rolling Stone Keith Richards can still pass for the hard-living hard rocker he's always been. But the sunken cheeks have filled out, and the haunted morning-after look has been replaced by a gleam of parental pride. Last month in New York Richards' wife of 16 months, model Patti Hansen, 29, gave birth to a 7-pound 15-ounce girl named Theodora Dupree Richards.
It's not that Richards hasn't played the proud papa before—he has two teenage children by ex-girlfriend Anita Pallenberg—it's just that he seems more likely to appreciate fatherhood at the advanced age of 41. The blue-eyed, ginger-haired infant is named after her maternal grandmother and paternal great-grandfather. She resides, surrounded by stuffed animals, in an all-white nursery in the couple's apartment on Manhattan's East Side.
Richards headed off to Paris last week to rejoin the Stones as they record their 29th album. Patti and Theodora plan on joining him later. Lest tiny Teddy grow lonesome for her father, she can always gaze up at the picture of Dear Old Dad, riding a bike at the age of 5, that hangs above her crib.
