Picks and Pans Review: Curious George

Any parent with a semidecent reading style can save some money on this one. It includes 12 tales about the Man with the Yellow Hat and his inquisitive simian as created by Margaret and H.A. Rey. But there is very little real animation. Most of the footage consists of still pictures taken from the books, with all the narration and voices in the text read by the same actor. And as children's book readers go, he is not exactly a top banana. (Sony Video, $49.95)
