Picks and Pans Review: Velveteen Rabbit

UPDATED 05/13/1985 at 01:00 AM EDT Originally published 05/13/1985 at 01:00 AM EDT

This is not exactly an animated version of Margery Williams' irresistible story about how a stuffed rabbit is so well loved he becomes real. It is a 30-minute musical with narration by H.E.D. Redford, music by the Sherman brothers (Richard M. and Robert B.), and stars Marie Osmond herself as the cotton-pile cottontail. Anyone who does not start to cry when the rabbit protagonist seems threatened with obliteration has a heart made out of stuff a lot sterner than velveteen. (King of Video Inc., $39.95)
