Picks and Pans Review: Everybody Wants to Rule the World
Tears for Fears
The title of this song is almost longer than the video. It is most certainly longer on meaning than the random images and visual fragments the group serves up. Intercut with the smiling band are various shots of children playing, gliders flying and landing, a painfully cute puppy taking a few tentative steps toward the camera, two black men dancing in front of two old gas pumps, motorcycles rearranging sand in the desert, lead singer Curt Smith driving a green convertible down the freeway, birds flying and a truck roaring past the camera as the sun sets. Eye candy, anyone?
