The success of Miami Vice set it up to be ripped off; hence Hollywood Beat, "a hip, pulsating drama," in ABC's words, about two tough cops who also dress like Hill Street's Belker. ABC's The Insiders is about two resourceful reporters who "live on the edge and like it that way." One of the reporters looks exactly like Prince (minus the sequins).
