A Seagoing Sun-Worshiper Gives a Sausalito Sculpture His Seal of Approval

Ah yes, there's nothing quite like bagging a few rays. In California the sun-worshipers come in all shapes, sizes and shades. Take this sea lion in sunny Sausalito Harbor. What better perch could he find than sculptor Al Sybrian's life-size rendering of a briny brother? When photographer Dieter Rapp happened upon this scene, he was immediately struck by the way life was nestling up to art, so he snapped away. Before long, however, the sleek sybarite slithered off his statue and swam into the deep. Next time, no doubt, he'll come armed with dark glasses, sun block and a portable radio.
