Even on a full stomach, a glimpse at this visual feast can spark an appetite. The Florence-born Bugialli presents 125 Italian recipes as they're prepared in the places of their birth, with variations for cooking in America. He begins his survey with sautéed fresh olives and makes his way through risotto with zucchini blossoms, a delectable choice of pasta dishes and a sunny tour of a Chianti vineyard. Each recipe is garnished with sprigs of Ideal history, and many are deliciously photographed by Dominis. a Time-Life photographer. This glossy treasury is almost too pretty to take from the coffee table into the kitchen, but go ahead. (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, $45)
