The editors invited 20 best-selling writers of romance novels to describe their own early love lives, and these women have managed to make reality as bizarre as their books—and a lot wittier. A few samples of how some of these women react to a kiss will provide the best example of what readers can expect in My First Real Romance. Nora Roberts (author of The Heart's Victory and This Magic Moment) "felt as though the top of my head would come right off." Rebecca Brandewyne (No Gentle Love, Rose of Rapture) "floated home on a cloud." Diana Palmer (Fire and Ice, The Tender Stranger) writes, "My toes curled. My hair uncurled. Angels sang. Wham." So much for kisses. The introduction is by Rosemary Rogers (The Wanton), and among the other contributors are such best-selling authors as Jennifer Blake, Jude Deveraux, Patricia Matthews, Sylvie Sommerfield and LaVyrle Spencer. Their very names are music to the ears of the true romantic. (Stein and Day, $15.95)
