Harry Anderson created a great character in his flimflam man who fleeces people in bars and who makes fun of magic but still makes magic look fun. Anderson brought the shtik to the stage in comedy clubs; he brought it to Cheers a few seasons ago; and you still see the sly guy popping up in his delightful sitcom, Night Court. The act's as entertaining as ever. But it's also time for Anderson to do something more with his character before we get tired of him, before we see everything he can do. Maybe Harry should try to give his huckster a heart and a story to tell. Maybe he should make a movie.
