Here is a rare TV tribute that really lets you know its subject, Lord Olivier, a rare man indeed. In two parts on two Fridays, the show gives you lengthy chunks from utterly charming interviews with Olivier in 1982, when he turned 75, plus plenty of clips from his great and a few not-so-great performances. It is a spectacular biography on video. So it's too bad that PBS felt compelled to ruin the glow this British-made show gives you by tacking on smarmy interviews with American actors. When that epilogue comes on, change the channel quick. The grade for the British show itself: A
