Enough! The networks have run out of worthy issues for movies: wife abuse, child abuse, child prostitution, teen suicide, runaways and diseases that would fill every bed in St. Eligius and General Hospital. If they don't give up soon, the nets will have to start dramatizing issues from the Donahue show—A Dad Named Sue, the story of a transsexual father who becomes a stripper on drugs. Or the nets can start recycling issues. This one sure feels recycled. Martin Sheen plays an alcoholic dad who abuses his family and acts like an idiot and loses his job and goes into therapy and learns to cry. I too learned to cry by the time it was over. My ears hurt from all the shouting. My brain was in pain from once again being force-fed prime-time platitudes in a simpleminded plot. I've seen it all before. But I saw it once more—to save you the trouble.
