"When I made my first Western," says Kirk Douglas, "I went to Bugs and Daffy for advice." Candy Bergen smiles and recalls the times Porky Pig used to visit: "Porky was like an uncle to me." What we have here is a weird but quite wonderful little show that's both a tribute to Warner Brothers' great cartoon characters and a lighthearted lampoon of everything Hollywood. It's the best anniversary show I've seen. It's imaginative and delightful. And it-gives the stars a rare chance to show off their senses of humor. David Bowie, Cher, Jeremy Irons, Geraldine Page, Bill Murray and others talk about Bugs, Daffy, Porky, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd and the whole acetate gang as if they were old friends. Which they are.
