Picks and Pans Review: New Moves

Don Williams

The new moves in question would appear to be settling back in his easy chair a trifle faster or perhaps moseying a little bit more eccentrically. But then nobody really wants Williams to turn suddenly into a firebrand and start to rock and roll at this late date. We've Got a Good Fire Goin,' on which composer Dave Loggins plays guitar and sings backup for Williams, is a model tune: simple, romantic, cleanly arranged and sung with understated passion. Old Don almost gets excited on the Hank De-Vito-Danny Flowers song Senorita but, hey, everybody gets carried away once in a while. (Capitol)
