Picks and Pans Review: Godzilla Vs. Your Mother

Michael Perilstein

An all-time great title is hereby trashed. It sounds as if a wonderful comedy record ought to follow, but this is a dull 40 minutes of synthesizer playing by a Philadelphia musician who seems to be trying to trick people into buying his record. The liner notes also seem to suggest something humorous: "Michael Perilstein once said: 'So what if it rains on Tuesday?' And the woman whom he was addressing replied, 'Are you talking to me?' " That's all the funny stuff there is; this album comes off like a dog in monster's clothing. (Ralph)
