Picks and Pans Review: Tight & Toned
Just 15 minutes long, this session, led by "Jazzercise" mistress, Judi Sheppard Missett, offers a convenient, easily paced workout. Most of the exercises involve stretching, and Missett stresses body alignment. (A companion tape, Fit & Physical, stresses aerobics.) Since some of the exercises are done with the head down, it's hard to figure out how anyone can watch what she's doing and stay properly aligned. Missett's pep-talk chatter—"Hello, hamstring," "Smile at the floor, the floor is good"—could get wearisome over repeated viewings too, and the background music would be more appropriate to Muzakercise than jazz. What the heck. You get it all over with fast. (Parade, $19.95 each)
