As Ebert and Siskel moved on from PBS to one syndication company, then to another, they left pale, poor copycats in their tracks. Michael Medved and Jeffrey Lyons, the clones on PBS, do nothing so well as make Ebert and Siskel look good. Medved is most irritating. He lectures you like some show-off teacher's pet delivering a book report. Like many of his fellow copycats, he doesn't so much review a movie as he introduces clips, just like a talk show guest. Lyons isn't offensive, just bland. Both seem afraid of their opinions and of each other. They have about as much chemistry as watered-down milk.
