Mikhail Gorbachev's policy of glasnost (openness) means the state-controlled news show (the title means "time") now sometimes reports on domestic disasters like floods and social problems like poor housing. But glasnost doesn't apply to foreign affairs. In heavy-handed fashion, the U.S. is still shown as a warmongering nation that causes all the world's problems.
