In a new series that looks like a particularly unbearable Saturday Night Live skit—one that goes on for weeks on end—Bill Maher and Tommy Hinkley play detectives with the brainpower of slugs who hang out in a restaurant with a cook whose voice makes Pee-Wee Herman's sound dulcet. Fun bunch. Don't ask how, but in one episode, they destroy the world in chemical, biological and nuclear havoc and then lecture us about taking care of the planet. I've read bumpers that were more profound.
