With her perfectly lovely voice, Karen (Heartburn) Akers sounds like a songbird—but the kind you wind up. When she sings the blues they're the color of a sunny sky. In this concert special, Akers proves that she'd be great if only she'd project from her guts as well as she does from her lungs—and if she'd stop singing nice melodies ruined with arrrgh!-inducing lyrics by Rod McKuen.
